A deeply immersive journey across dreamy pop and creative electronica tracing personal transformation, Eclosion is the memorable sophomore album from Berlin-based producer Maury111. Merging meticulous vocal layers with ethereal electronic work, the Opéra de Paris classically trained artist delivers a captivating story of breaking free amidst consistently enthralling soundscapes.
A striking opener, “Solare” melds a climactic, buzzy synth development — building from murky ruminations to glitchy invigoration — with solemn vocal introspection. “Without words can meaning still appear,” emotive vocal layers emanate. “Without language here to interfere.” Fondly resembling a darker version of The Notwist, the track’s production delights in its swelling, ghostly allure, especially resonant around 03:20 as industrial pulsations fall into a lush, piano-laden elegance. Maury111’s eclectic tonal range is quickly on display here, as it is also on the ensuing “Océan Séché.” French lyricism is vivid in exuding a sense of wonder amidst emotional desolation, depicting a beach without an ocean through various atmospheric realms, from creaky guitar tones to swells of textural emotion, reminiscent of Sigur Rós.
Another standout track, “Moonrise” exudes a nocturnal, calming synth-pop harmoniousness. Kreatress’ serene vocal additions meld with spacey synth twinkling and hypnotic momentum, stirring particularly in the “the balance is divine” dual-vocal power and subsequent soulfulness. Elsewhere, “The Veil” achieves a similarly spacious soundscape, met by a midpoint array of arpeggiated art-pop and ascending layered vocal emotion. “One” arrives next, its late-night synth pulses and submerged vocal tones establishing a subdued, otherworldly vibe, sounding as if it’s coming through via an extraterrestrial frequency. Fantastic in its immersive atmospheres and artful melodic approaches, Eclosion is an enveloping full-length from Maury111.
