Enamoring with its breezy guitar jangles and sporadic touches of playful synths, “New Plans” is a memorable new single from Knupperpouf, the project of Amsterdam-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Nicolette Lie. Described as “about standing on crossroads,” the track excels thematically and melodically.
The lead vocal questioning of if you’re “just tired of everything going on … in your life” builds amidst warming guitar tones into a hooky shift, where added guitar twangs complement melodic ruminations of how “these days we don’t have new craves.” A Parklife-era Blur likeness shines in the guitar tones and performance shifts between sharp observations and harmonious hookiness. “New Plans” is an enveloping output from Knupperpouf.
