JOHN DORIAN – “TWO SWANS”

Brooklyn-based artist JOHN DORIAN captures the fragile tensions of love on “TWO SWANS,” a captivating chamber ballad produced by Michael Beinhorn. Warm synths, resonant performance emotion, and richly layered piano, fretless bass, and strings build toward an evocative finale, tracing a journey through emotional conflict and the clarity that can emerge from turmoil.

A warm, simmering synth tone remains a hypnotic background element as lovely piano enters the mix, further bolstered by a lovely fretless bass and the ensuing emergence of Dorian’s resonating lead presence. “Will we disappear in a fever pitch?” he asks, poetic in the ensuing imagery of “like leaves, scattered in the fall, no witnesses, two swans out in the cold?” The title-bearing backing harmonic layers sit cohesively between the ballad-ready verses, the visuals of “two swans out in the cold” artfully representative of conflicts of the heart. Ghostly, wordless harmonic layers and gorgeous strings adorn a particularly striking second half, culminating in a final impactful refrain. “TWO SWANS” is a beautiful showcase in songwriting from JOHN DORIAN.
