Janosch Moldau – “Not At All”

A moody art-pop standout that resembles a hybrid of Talk Talk and Depeche Mode in its riveting vocals and absorbing soundscape, “Not At All” is an enveloping track from German artist Janosch Moldau. The release represents the last of four tracks on his upcoming EP, Goodbye World, out on August 14th. The EP’s title track will also release a week earlier.

“Not At All” commences with spacious intrigue, with haunting vocal effects and shuffling rhythmic subtleties driving into Moldau’s gripping lead vocals. “Not all the things are worth living through,” he lets out. “Oh how much I miss you.” The yearning is palpable as the engrossing soundscape develops into throbbing synths and pulsing percussion, evolving from spacey electro-pop intrigue into multi-layered vocal passion. “Not At All” is a gorgeous output from Janosch Moldau.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
